Walk with unexpected encounter

Yesterday we walked from Hetton to Flasby. On the way we encountered these two large hairy beasts. We were puzzled why they advanced towards us threateningly as soon as we stepped over the stile into "their" field; until we noticed that the small heap on the ground was a new-born calf and the footpath lay between it and them - so we retreated and walked around that field!

Hetton is a picture-postcard Dales village half-way between Skipton and Grassington; about a mile off the main road. Flasby is a hamlet two miles beyond and the walk is a pleasant stroll alongside the beck that runs from one to the other.

This is the route on Googel Maps
