Skipton Holiday Cottage

Bank Holiday Monday saw us at West Burton Country Fair. It's a classic of the genre - teas in the village hall; hotdogs and burgers served from a horsebox; white elephant stall, bookstall etc. There was dancing around the Maypole by the children of the village school; and later the Leeds Morris Men (and women) pitched up and did their stuff in the road. The best item on sale was locally-published cookbook "Favourite Recipes from West Burton and Walden", which is stuffed full of goodies with recipes from local professional chefs as well as farmers' wives.
