Skipton Holiday Cottage

Yesterday we walked up Shortbank Road towards Skipton Moor to get this panoramic view of the town and the hills beyond. It is a steep walk and walking boots are needed when the tarmac runs out and the track continues up the hillside through trees. This is a view from the old road dating back to the Romans -- now little more than a footpath in places - which was for centuries the main route between Skipton and Ilkley.
