Riverside Walk

Today we walked a section of the Dales Way from Addingham to Bolton Abbey and back. The route largely follows the River Wharfe and affords stunning views of the hills of Upper Wharfedale as well as scenic vistas of the river. Along the route we passed Farfield Meeting House, preserved as one of oldest Quaker meeting houses in the country. The final stretch of the walk approaching Bolton Abbey gives a wonderful view of the Priory Ruins. There are toilets and teashops etc at Bolton Abbey and places to sit and eat picnics in the Priory Grounds or by the riverside. Today the area was teeming with holidaying families enjoying the sunshine; swimming and boating in the river.
